9th Grade SLC
Academic Development and Study Habits So far, this has been a challenging, stimulating, and exciting year.
I am pleased to share with you my successes and how I plan to overcome my struggles as a student. I began this year with a feeling of invincibility and a fear of not being challenged. These were soon replaced with curiosity and the knowledge that there is always room for improvement. For the first time I looked at my work and said, "I can do better." I had some failures, but I was able to pick myself up and learn from them. I always participate in class and complete my work, however, I need the work on scheduling so that I can balance my homework with extracurriculars better. I plan to do this by writing in my planner daily and spreading out my homework when we have multiple days to do it. In group projects, I am still learning how to balance maintaining my own grade with keeping my group members accountable. When I do all of an assignment, we are not practicing collaboration, but when we divide the work equally and they neglect to do their part, everyone's grade suffers. I continue to try different strategies to practice effective collaboration.
